Toyota has shown a hybrid version of a full size pickup called the FTX at the 2004 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

The concept truck was developed by the TMS Advanced Product Strategy Group and Toyota's research and design center in Newport Beach, California.

The FTX concept truck has a double cab with doors that open 90 degrees.

The FTX is powered by a large-displacement V8 hybrid gas-electric engine which provides ample power while delivering V6 fuel efficiency.

The truck is a 4X4 design.
