"Motor Week" on Maryland Public
Television is a really good show. They test cars the way ordinary people would
tend to; not focusing on exotic sports cars that very few people buy, but with
an emphasis on regular, family vehicles. Here's some reports on hybrids they've
tested:
2005 Ford Escape Hybrid (32 MPG in their test; this is a 4WD version)
2003 Honda Civic Hybrid (45 MPG in their test; this is a manual
transmission version. Note: this model has been redesigned for 2006.)
2006 Toyota
Highlander Hybrid (26 MPG in their test loop; this is a 2WD version)
2001 Toyota Prius (40 MPG on their test loop. This was the first generation
model.)
2004 Toyota Prius (53 MPG on their test loop. This is the current, 2nd
generation model.)
