Local Media Coverage of Hybrid Vehicles

"Motor Week" on Maryland Public Television is a really good show. They test cars the way ordinary people would tend to; not focusing on exotic sports cars that very few people buy, but with an emphasis on regular, family vehicles. Here's some reports on hybrids they've tested:

2005 Ford Escape Hybrid (32 MPG in their test; this is a 4WD version)

2003 Honda Civic Hybrid (45 MPG in their test; this is a manual transmission version. Note: this model has been redesigned for 2006.)

2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid (26 MPG in their test loop; this is a 2WD version)

2001 Toyota Prius (40 MPG on their test loop. This was the first generation model.)

2004 Toyota Prius (53 MPG on their test loop. This is the current, 2nd generation model.)

Warren Brown of the Washington Post really loves cars. Here's some of his reviews on hybrids (you may need to register to use the Posts' website):

2002 Toyota Prius
