Here's a happy story about a turtle that had been struck by a car. He (she?) was taken to Long
Branch Nature Center in Arlington, VA. This nature center only
rehabilitates reptiles. They patched his shell, which had broken
completely across from one side to the other. You can see the three
white plastic pieces used to hold the two parts of the shell
together. A few months later, and the turtle is good as new. Once
the video below has loaded, you can see the little guy's (gal) return
to nature. If the video doesn't load try using Internet Explorer for
this page. If you ever find injured wildlife, Wildlife Rescue League, at
703-440-0800, will help you figure out how to help the animal. You'll
probably get a recording, and get a call back soon, with appropriate
information. flash
