If you want a
top of the line notebook computer, Sony is good to take a look
at. The VAIO T350/L otebook is one of their top of the line
models.
Sony has what
they call SmartWi™ technology. It can seek out
Wide Area Networks (WAN), 802.11 b/g wireless LAN
and Bluetooth® technologies. The computer
comes with a Cingular SIM card.
It includes a
drive which will do it all. Play CDs, burn CDs, play DVDs and
record DVDs.
For a long time,
one of Sony's strong suits is video, with their line of
camcorders and Trinitron and WEGA TVs. If you want to
edit your own home movies, Sony includes their DVgate Plus™
Video software, which is good at blending video imported from
multiple sources.
All of this
makes for a very substantial package. But the icing on the
cake is the weight; only 3.04 pounds.
Battery life is
estimated at 4 to 9 hours, depending on usage.
Sony is a very smart company and they aren't going to miss an
opportunity to sell you nifty accessories. Available ones
include:
Additional
standard battery
Additional AC adapter
Port Replicator
Additional 512MB memory
External 60GB Hard Drive
Memory Card Adapter
USB mobile mouse
Wireless optical mouse
External USB floppy disk drive
Privacy Filter
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Slim carrying case
Large carrying case
Notebook Briefcase
USB Camera
Notebook backpack
Notebook protection case
The port
replicator is a particularly nice option. It lets you hook up
the types of devices you'd normally hook up to a home
computer. Then you can just slide your notebook computer in
and use it very much like a conventional home system, then
pull it out and have all the advantages of a notebook. It's
about $200.
Telephone support is for 1 year (toll-free technical telephone
assistance, available 24-hours, 7-days-a-week).
About $2,100.
