Takoma Park has a great sense of community. People are pretty
friendly there. There's so much in the center of town that makes
walking to do your chores an enjoyable experience.

What's there? Yoga, like Willow Street Yoga. The Takoma Park Silver Spring Food Co-op is outstanding. It's got a huge selection of healthy foods. Mark's Cafe serves lots of vegetarian and vegan foods. If  you have a pet, Big Bad Woof is one of the best places you'll find for pet foods and treats. Even Fluffy and Fido can be responsible shoppers; they carry the best brands of pet food, free of animal byproducts.

The Metro is close by, with the Takoma Park station. Plenty of buses serve the area.  You almost could get by without a car here.

There's a lot of Seventh Day Adventist presence in Takoma Park.
Adventists have followed a low fat vegetarian diet for decades as
a way to keep the body healthy.

Sangha is a store that sells free trade items from around the world. They serve as a focal point for the local Buddhist community. They also have live performances from time to time.

If you're an environmentalist, you'll like Takoma Park. One of the most active environmental groups in the area, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, is head quartered here. You see tons of hybrids around town. The co-op and other businesses have bulletin boards with lots of environmental and other activities listed.

Takoma Park is a fun place to visit, and a great place to live.
