Vienna VA is right off Rt. 66 just outside the Beltway.

What's there:

Great bike trails; you can ride for miles on flat trails with no car traffic to worry about. Just as you come into Vienna, Vienna Bikes is there. They have a very wide range of specialty bikes, including recumbents.

Whole Foods Market is there for healthy foods, supplements and body care products.

Sunflower vegetarian restaurant is so good you might want to go there even if you're not a vegetarian. Amma, on the other end of Maple Avenue, has vegetarian fair from India.

For pet lovers, Vienna is great. There are lots of  veterinary clinics, including a 24 hour emergency hospital. The Veterinary Rehab Clinic offers rehabilitation therapies that are hard to find. Typically, they will have a vet trained in therapies such as acupuncture and reiki. They also sell an outstanding line of pet foods with no animal byproducts. Just a short drive into Fairfax is Webers Pets, which has a great selection of premium pet products.

The Metro serves Vienna, with the Vienna station being the last stop on the Blue line. Bus service is good. The CUE buses go from the Vienna Metro stop through Fairfax City, passing by George Mason University.

Wolf Trap is close by.

Much of Vienna is relatively new, so it has a clean feel to it. Most of the houses are nice, but not extravagant.

Vienna was selected a "Best Place to Live" by CNNMoney for 2005.
